Spurred to action by our parallel concerns over the present economic crisis and our societies’ drift from core values, we are a multi-faith group aiming to educate the public about the Bible’s wisdom on the economic world.  Our mission: a compendium of Biblical citations related to finances and the economy, spiced with modern-day observations.

Like most Americans, this financial crisis caught us off guard. Not possessing Economics degrees we had no idea how to behave, or what our next move should be to secure our futures (or even our present).  As we now know, so-called financial experts had no idea what was about to hit.

The events of recent months might be new, but human nature is not. If the experts know so little and we repeat the same mistakes ad infinitum, where might the answers lie? These Books guide us not only toward the moral and right thing to do, but also the smart.

The Biblical lessons referenced here remind us of so many things our grandparents tried to tell us but we ignored: about moderation, industriousness, saving for a rainy day, not putting all our eggs in one basket. Sounds simple? No fancy graphs or pie charts? Not cloaked in obscure terms known only to the few members of an elite club? Who’s to say if the simple or the sophisticated (even if convoluted) interpretation is correct? The final chapter in this financial saga hasn’t yet been written.
